Watercolor passion

Txon Pomés was born in Pamplona (Spain) in 1956. In 1973 he obtained a diploma in ISSA Management-Assistant (University of Navarra) in San Sebastián. He works at the College of Civil Engineers, Canals and Ports in Bilbao. In 1983 a chronic illness made him abandon the profession and he returned to Pamplona.

During a period of convalescence, he discovers the magic of watercolor thanks to the painter Ron Ranson (Wales). He attended her workshops in England in 1999, 2002 and 2003. In May 2004, Ron Ranson traveled to Bilbao to open the artist’s exhibition.

Currently, Txon Pomes holds exhibitions, courses and conferences around the world, making known his art and his way of seeing the world through nature.

This is how my life is - watercolor: real magic, latent nature. Well, in it I make friends with the wind, the sea and the rain. I approach the earth in its fragrance of silver-green moss, the red of the throbbing beech before its death, the leaping river, the sky in spring, the fleeting and decadent autumn. I become a bird that flies, a smart and determined squirrel, a vivacious trout of clean waters.
